As a precautionary measure against the spread of Covid-19, access to the Embassy of Italy is possible by appointment only.
Priority will be given to consular services that cannot be delivered online, cannot be postponed and are of urgent nature, including, in particular, the transcription of birth certificates, the issue of passports for newborns and the renewal of expired passports or the ones that are about to expire. Appointments can be booked by writing to consolare.mascate@esteri.it.
As for the other types of consular services, if they cannot be postponed, it is advisable to write in advance to consolare.mascate@esteri.it to agree on the procedure to be followed by remote. For emergencies involving Italian nationals only, outside the opening hours the Embassy is always reachable at +968 9933 2655. It is suggested to get updated information by consulting the website www.ambmascate.esteri.it and / or the official Instagram and Twitter accounts of the Embassy, where updates are regularly published.
We also suggest that you download the application “Unità di Crisi” (in Italian language only) onto your mobile phone, available for both Android and IOS, where you can register and receive notifications relating to updates and warnings on the situation in Oman.
In the event of the presence of the symptoms of the virus, it will be necessary to contact only the appropriate number of the Omani Ministry of Health 2440 1999 or 1212 and follow the relevant indications. Italian nationals are also invited to kindly report the possible positivity ascertained to COVID 19 in Oman to this Embassy to the email consolare.mascate@esteri.it.
