STUDY VISA

Study visas allow entry to Italy for long-stay or short-stay periods, with the purpose of study, vocational training or study/postgraduate- exchange and mobility program-language course.

Check the right visa depending on the kind of study activity you intend to conduct in Italy:

  1. a) University pre-enrolment
    Foreign nationals who have already completed the pre-enrolment procedure for BA or MA at Italian Universities or AFAM Institutes and already obtained the so called “Dichiarazione di valore” (to be obtained at the Consular section of the Embassy) can apply for a study visa.

  1. b) Vocational training and Internship
    Applicants who need visas for vocational training or internship, please refer the following documents .

Students who intend to enroll to exchange programs or other courses can apply for study visa according to the following .

WHERE TO APPLY

Applications for study visa should be submitted directly at the Embassy of Italy. To book an appointment, please write to visti.mascate@esteri.it. Please bring with you your original passport and the application form duly filled-in and signed.

The study visa is free of charge.

Please be aware that the study visa is a national visa valid for Italy only. Therefore if you plan to visit other Schengen countries while you are studying in Italy you should need to apply for a Schengen visa for the country you wish to visit.
