Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Maria Tripodi, took part at the 27th Joint Council between the European Union and the Gulf Cooperation Council, held in Muscat on 9 and 10 October, representing Italy. The visit represented an opportunity to strengthen the excellent bilateral relationship with the Sultanate, and hold in-depth discussions with local partners.
The meetings focused on bilateral issues, investment prospects, cultural diplomacy and developments in the area, including the follow-ups to the Conference on development and migration held on 23 July in Rome. During the talks, energy partnership and important collaboration opportunities for our companies were also addressed, in particular the development of green hydrogen in the Sultanate with particular reference to the third Green Hydrogen Summit Oman scheduled to take place in Muscat from 12 to December 15 2023.
