In the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale war of aggression against Ukraine, it is imperative to put the war to an end, through a just and durable settlement that ends human suffering.
Defending Ukraine means defending universal norms like sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the prohibition of territorial conquest by force, whose erosion would weaken international stability and embolden future aggression, in addition to undermine European security and increase instability well beyond Europe.
For this reason Italy, together with the other EU partners, firmly continue to support Ukraine determination to resist and exist. A sustained EU and international support for Ukraine remains essential for a peace which must be durable, credible and consistent with international law.
