LIST OF TRANSLATORS AND INTERPRETERS AVAILABLE TO CONSULAR USERS
The list below shows the names and contact details of some translators and interpreters who can be used in case of need, without prejudice of course to the possibility of contacting other trusted professionals.
This list must be considered non-exhaustive, as it was defined on the basis of the requests for inclusion made by the professionals themselves, and therefore it may include other names in the future.
The Embassy is not responsible for the quality of the service provided by them, their work and the rates charged.
The identified professionals possess the legal qualification to practice the profession and to be registered in the relevant register or/and professional order and have a knowledge of at least English and Arabic.
Professionals wishing to be included in the aforementioned list must send a specific request to this Embassy at the email address consolare.mascate@esteri.it, providing it with a professional curriculum vitae, self-certification regarding the legal qualification to practice the profession and enrollment in the relevant register and about the possible knowledge of the Italian language. This Embassy reserves the right to ascertain the possession of the aforementioned requirements.
The Embassy of Italy in Muscat can issue a DoV (Declaration of Value – Dichiarazione di Valore) only if the university explicitly states that it requires it and does not accept CIMEA. Also, the Embassy can grant it only if the certificate was issued in an educational institution in Oman recognized by the competent Omani authorities, which means the Ministry of Education.
Once the aforementioned conditions are fulfilled, to obtain the Declaration of Value of a secondary school qualification (Omani educational system of 12 years of study) or university certificate issued in Oman, the following documentation must be submitted:
- Original high school diploma (Sample 01) or university diploma;
- Original transcript (Sample 04)
- Letter from the school (Sample 02) or university that issued the qualification/diploma, complete with stamp, signature and date of issue. Kindly fill up all the missing details in the sample letter choosing one option when there is a “/”. (document in word for easier typing by school/university)
All the above documentation must be legalized AND apostilled by the Omani Foreign Ministry (Sample 05). The same must be translated into Italian by a qualified translator (list attached for reference only, other translators are accepted). Translation should also be legalized AND apostilled by the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and only after completing this requirement can these documents be sent in advance via email to consolare.mascate@esteri.it.
The following documents will also be requested:
- Request form (attached – to be filled up and signed by applicant);
- Letter from the Omani Ministry of Education (Sample 03) indicating the number of completed years of primary and secondary school;
- Letter of acceptance from the Italian University (in case the University grants it only after getting CIMEA or DoV, a proof of that is required);
- Two recent colored photos, passport format (white background);
- Colored copy of passport;
- Form A completed in its entirety.
This Embassy, having ascertained the suitability of the documents provided, will fix an appointment to issue the declaration of value.
At the day of appointment, the interested party must present the original documents which, in any case, will be returned immediately, and all their translations as well as translations with the Apostille/legalizations of the Omani Foreign Ministry.
