ITALY OPENS UP FOR TOURISM VISAS

Considering the favorable evolution of the epidemiological situation at international and national level, following the recent European Union recommendations, the Italian Minister of Health, H.E. Roberto Speranza, issued new traveling rules that open the entrance on the Italian territory for tourism to citizens of foreign countries, including the Sultanate of Oman.

Accordingly, the entry requirments from all the EU and non-EU countries as of March 1, 2022 will be the following:

a. Adult travellers will have to complete the digital Passenger Locator Form (PLF) https://app.euplf.eu/#/  to be shown to the travel provider.
b. Adults to present COVID-19 official certifications (certificate of vaccination, or certificate of recovery or negative molecular or antigenic test)
Travellers who do not comply with the above-mentioned requirements can enter the Italian territory but must undergo a five-day quarantine period at the address indicated in the PLF. The quarantine will finish after taking a PCR test or a rapid test with a negative result.
Holders of visas will remain subject to the conditions aforesaid at their sole individual responsibility, so that the Italian visa offices will not have to check the appropriate health documentation during the examination of visa applications.
The Embassy of Italy in Muscat will resume the issuance of Schengen tourism visas for all foreign citizens, through its external service provider for visas:
