- National or Schengen visa application form, duly completed and signed.
- Two identical and recent photographs (3 cm x 4 cm), white background, one of which must be glued to the form in the appropriate box.
- Payment of consular fees.
- Valid passport (valid for at least 3 months beyond the validity of the visa) with at least two blank pages and a photocopy of the passport (only the passport page containing the holder’s personal information).
- Valid Omani residency card.
- Plain photocopy of educational qualifications with the relevant apostille. A Declaration of Value may also be submitted.
- Authorization from the competent Police Headquarters for the place where the self-employed activity will be carried out. The authorization must be dated no less than three months ago.
- Certification of the financial resources required to carry out the work activity, issued by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Agriculture (CCIAA) competent for the place where the self-employed activity will be carried out. The certification must in any case be for an amount no less than three times the sum equal to the annual capitalization of the monthly social security benefit (starting from approximately €20,000).
- Sufficient financial resources in Italy to guarantee the necessary resources referred to in the previous certification.
- Availability of income – relating to the previous financial year – exceeding the minimum level required by law for exemption from healthcare co-payments (€8,500), already earned in the country of residence.
- Proof of availability of accommodation through one of the following options:

- Rental contract for a house or apartment, registered with the competent authorities in Italy and valid for the requested period of stay.
- Documentation certifying the purchase of real estate in Italy
- One-way flight reservation with final destination Italy.
